Abstract
140,414. Commonwealth Steel Co., (Assignees of Sheehan, W. M.). April 21,1914, [Convention date]. Frames, plate and bar.-The rear frame is cast in a single piece with side members having the necessary brackets and bearings and a series of transverse members constituting parts of the front and rear walls of the ash pans. The casting consists of side members 10, the forward ends of which are bolted to the main frame A and are united by a web 11 and a vertical plate 12 forming a connexion for the front of the fire-box. Inclined transverse plates 17, 23 and an arched plate 18 form portions of the walls of the front and rear ash pans. Brackets 19, 22 serve for attaching spring yokes D. Laterally projecting plates 20 are provided with lugs 21 for the reception of pins for attaching spring hangers and with ribs 26 which, with a transverse flanged wall 24, serve for attachment of the rear of the fire-box. The rear ends of the members 10 are united by top, bottom, and intermediate horizontal plates, webs 31 being arranged between the intermediate and bottom plates. The draw-bar is attached by a pin passing through openings 32, and a buffer housing 33 is formed in an end plate 30.
