Abstract
1402196 Wax dispersion HERCULES [NC 22 March 1973 [26 April 1972] 13867/73 Heading B1V [Also in Division C3] A stable aqueous wax dispersion comprises by weight (A) from 1% to 50% wax, (B) from 0.1% to 20% water-soluble thermosettable c a t i o n i c amino-polyamide-epichlorohydrin resin, (C) water to 100%. The dispersion may be made by preparaing a blend of the wax (A) in its fused state, (B) and (C), maintaining the blend at a temperature which is high enough to maintain the wax in its fused state, homogenising the blend at a pressure of from 1000 psig to 8000 psig, and cooling the dispersion with stirring. In the examples, the wax is paraffiin wax; also mentioned are micro-crystalline, oxidised microcrystalline, montan, Hoechst, ozokerite, carnauba, esparto, flax, sugar cane, candelilla, beeswax, pentaerythritol tetrastearate wax and chlorinated waxes.
