Abstract
1401747 Flavourings L GIVAUDAN & CIE SA 9 Oct 1973 [10 Oct 1972] 47086/73 Heading A2B [Also in Division A5] A flavouring or aromatising composition comprises an aldehyde of formula together with citral. In the formula either R 1 is hydrogen and R 2 is isopropylidene or isopropenyl, or R 1 and R 2 together are dimethylmethylene. The aldehydes are 2-formyl-1-isopropenyl-3-methyl-cyclopentane (photocitral A), 1, 6, 6-trimethyl-bicyclo(21.1.)hexane-2- aldehyde (photocitral B) and 2-formyl-1-isopropylidene-3-methyl-cyclopentane, and their stereoisomers. The composition can be used in yoghurt, puddings, sweets, ices and beverages, and may be in-liquid, paste or powder form.
