Abstract

1401730 Tube dispenser for flexible hosing RUHRKOHLE AG 18 Sept 1973 [20 Sept 1972] 43737/73 Heading B8C A tube dispenser 1 comprises at least three tube restraining elements 3 which are movable in a radial direction and are arranged equidistant from one another around one end of the tube dispenser and one, or more, actuating elements for imparting motion to the said restraining elements. As shown in Fig. 1, the pay-off end for each shirred tube 2 on each half of a duplex dispenser is provided with an edge bead 10 and four S-shaped leaf springs 3 which extend through recesses 14, and have their flattened, inner, ends connected to the interior of, the dispenser, and their outer ends attached to pull rods, or ropes, 5. The latter are connected, at the dispenser axis, to a rope 7 which passes through a guide 8 which is angled to lead the rope 7 to the circumference of a middle portion 11 which connects the two halves of the dispenser. The outer end of the rope 7 is connected to an operating lever 9 which is pivoted at 90 to the middle portion 11, and which can be locked in various positions by a mechanism 91. In a generally similar arrangement, Fig. 4, not shown, the springs (4), actuated by mechanism as shown in Fig. 1, terminate in rollers (40). The springs 4, may be replaced by levers (6), Figs, 5, 6, not shown, which carry either curved flat bars (62) or rollers (63) on their free. outer, ends and are pivoted, at (66), to the dispenser (1), the inner ends of the levers (6) being connected by ropes (65) to one end of a spring (64) connected at its other end to the tube dispenser. As shown in Figs. 7, 8, the leaf springs 3 have pads 41 which are adapted to either increase, or decrease, the frictional resistance of the pay out of the shirred tube, the springs 3 being adjustable by an annular sleeve 15.
