Abstract

1401660 Incubators BEKOTO 7 Aug 1972 [9 Aug 1971] 36839/72 Heading AIM In a tunnel type egg incubator, in which eggs are stored sequentially according to age, centrifugal fans 4 with deflector plates 9 circulate air from enothermic eggs near the exit S to the endothermic eggs near the entrance E (arrow f 1 ) and vice versa (arrow f 2 ). Cooled air from a humidity controller is also sent to the enothermic eggs. The egg trays are mounted on carriages 3 running on rails 2 sloping towards the exit, and to enable the carriage to travel over flooring the metal wheels have tyred flanges. The eggs are turned by parallelogram tray tilting means operated by a reversible electric motor driving a screw and nut device on each carriage. The motor is connected to three shoes on the carriage which contact three conductor rails in the incubator.
