Abstract

1401323 Brake valves ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 3 Aug 1972 [4 Aug 1971] 36218/72 Headings F2F and F2V A multicircuit protective valve assembly for a vehicle brake system comprises a plurality of spill valves 7, 8, 9, 10 with a common inlet 1 connectible to an air compressor and separate outlets connected to air reservoirs or other pneumatic equipment, each valve having a closure member 18 having separate faces A, B of different effective areas acted on by air pressure, the member 18 being acted on in the opposite directions by a spring 20 the sp ing constant of which is such that at a pressure of 0-bar acting on area B the pressure acting on area A is 0À3 to 0À5 bar higher at a flow through quantity of 200 L/min than at a flow through quantity of 50 L/min. In the embodiment shown valves 9, 10 are connected by outlets 13, 14 respectively to a spring applied fluid pressure released braking system and to an arrangement for tipping the vehicle. The assembly ensures that if one circuit connected to an outlet fails, compressed air can still pass to the remaining circuits.
