Abstract

1401256 Calcium carbonate formulation MILES LABORATORIES INC 30 April 1973 [30 June 1972] 20542/73 Heading A5B An antacid composition which can be directly compressed into tablets comprises (a) spraydried calcium carbonate, (b) a tabletting lubricant and (c) a sweetener. Granules of spraydried calcium carbonate are prepared from a slurry comprising oaclium carbonate, polyethylene glyool, sodium dioctyl sulphosuccinate, hydrolysed cereal solids and water. The lubricant may be magnesium stearate, the sweetener mannitol, sucrose or sodium saccharin. The tabletting composition may also include aluminium hydroxide-magnesium carbonate, talc and flavouring.
