Abstract

1401127 Inductor SIEMENS AG 23 Feb 1973 [17 March 1972 (2)] 8955/73 Heading HIT An inductor comprises a magnetic core 1 which surrounds or is surrounded by a non- inductive resistor in shunt with the inductor winding. As shown a coil 2 of copper wire with ends soldered to connecting wires 3, is surrounded by an insulating former 4 with an internal resistive film 5 connected to wires 3 by electrically conductive cement 6. The core may be of ferrite, carbonyl iron or sheet metal, and the former may be of ceramic, glass or ferromagnetic material. The resistive film could be external. Solid or wire wound resistors are also envisaged. Another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) has a solid resistor inside a hollow core and its leads from the connecting wires 3. The whole may be enveloped in insulating material and magnetic material.
