Abstract

1401015 Corona charging apparatus HOECHST AG 7 Sept 1972 [10 Sept 1971] 41603/72 Heading H1X The discharge elements 7 of a corona discharge apparatus are arranged in a plurality of symmetrically disposed groups with or without a separately connected central element, the elements of each group being electrically connected to each other, and the groups being connected via respective common resistors R1 to a voltage source V. The object is to achieve a substantially uniform current density in all the elements. The elements 7 are preferably wires which are supported in a frame (Fig. 2, not shown) so as to be equidistant from the curved surface of a photoconductive cylinder of a xerographic reproduction machine (Fig. 1, not shown).
