1399999 Educational appliances S AJZENSKTEJN 22 Feb 1973 8713/73 Heading G5G A teaching device comprises a platen 1 having a pattern of electrically conductive regions interconnected to form two separate groups (Fig. 2, not shown); two electric light sources, e.g. bulbs or light emitting diodes, and a battery (6, 7, 9), Fig. 3 (not shown) arranged in a housing 13 provided with two windows 14, 15, one red and one green, above the light sources, the ends 16, 17 of the housing being formed as clamps suitable for holding an answer sheet on the platen; and a conductive stylus 12 connected into the circuit so that when the stylus is brought into contact with any one of the regions of one of the groups, one of the light sources is energized, whereas when the stylus is brought into contact with any one of the regions in the other group, the other light source is energized. The stylus may be a simple conductive pointer or it may have a metal point longitudinally yieldable against a compression spring (Fig. 4, not shown); alternatively, it may be of the type having a point which rotates under the application of longitudinal pressure, this arrangement facilitating penetration of the answer sheet by the stylus in those applications where the answer sheet does not contain preformed perforations. An electromechanical or electronic counter may also be provided to give an indicated count, e.g. representing correct answers, each time the stylus contacts any one of the regions of one of the groups.
