Abstract

1399475 Cracking TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 26 May 1972 24908/72 Heading C5E [Also in Division B1] Hydrocarbon feeds are subjected to a fluidic catalytic cracking process wherein the catalyst used is an amorphous silica-alumina containing up to 35% wt. alumina which has been pretreated bycontact with steam at 900-1500‹ F. for 0À5-100 hrs. under a steam pressure of 1 to 25 atm. to increase the ratio 100 Î pore vol. (g./c.c.)/cube root of surface area (m.<SP>2</SP>/g.) to a value of at least 12-5. The example describes the cracking of a gas oil of specified properties under reaction conditions of 920‹ F., a liquid space velocity of 2À0 hr.<SP>-1</SP>, a weight ratio catalyst/oil of 1À0 and a reaction time of 0À5 hours.
