Abstract

1398402 Selective printers RCA CORPORATION 10 Oct 1972 [29 March 1972 (2)] 14683/72 and 14684/72 Heading B6F A printer comprises a type carrier 22 carrying displaceable type members 24, and a cam member 58 movable into the path of a type member 24 such that impact between the type member 24 and the cam member 58 deflects the type member 24 towards a record medium 14 and returns the cam member out of the path of the type members. The type carrier may comprise a disc as shown formed with spring fingers 26 carrying the type members, or a solid disc carrying slidable type members (Fig. 4, not shown), or a chain extending along the print line, a cam member being provided for each print position (not shown).
