Abstract

1398046 Flocked fabrics STANDARD PRODUCTS CO 21 June 1973 [21 June 1972] 29555/73 Heading B2E A weather strip, for sealing the space between cooperable relatively movable closure members, comprises an elongate base of synthetic plastics material and a flock on the surface of the base, the flock comprising a plurality of fibres projecting from the surface including a first group distributed throughout the surface and having a first denier and a first length and a second group of fibres distributed throughout the first group having a second denier less than that of the first denier and a second length less than the first length. The two groups of fibres may be of the same material, for example a polyamide such as nylon, wool, cotton or rayon. The fibres may be applied an electrostatic flocking method.
