Abstract

1396678 Automatic dishwashing compositions HOECHST AG 20 Nov 1973 [7 Dec 1972] 53774/73 Heading C5D Tableware are washed in an automatic dishwashing machine in two steps: (A) with an aqueous solution of a cleaning agent consisting of (parts by wt. of solids) 50-50 parts of granulated partially hydrated sodium tripolyphosphate containing 5 to 10% wt. of water of crystallization, 30-35 parts of anhydrous granulated sodium metasilicate, 4-5 parts of anhydrous sodium carbonate, 1-3 parts of sodium dichloroisocyanurate, 2À5-4 parts of citric acid monohydrate, 0À8 to 1À1 parts of Ca(OH) 2 , 0-0À5 parts of perfume and 1-5 parts of nonionic surfactant; and (B) with an aqueous solution of a rinsing agent consisting of (parts by wt. of mixture) 2 to 5 parts of a mixture of aliphatic alcohols containing 10-14 C atoms reacted with ethylene oxide, 8-12 parts of a nonionic surfactant which is the reaction product of ethylene diamine with ethylene oxide and propylene oxide, 20-35 parts of citric acid monohydrate, 0-2 parts of perfume, 0-20 parts of an aliphatic alcohol containing 1-4 C atoms, the balance being water. The cleaning agent is used in quantities of 30-40 g. per 10 litre of wash water and the rinsing agent in quantities of 3-4 cc. per 10 litres of wash water. The corrosiveness of the composition is reduced by the presence of citric acid and calcium hydroxide in the cleaning composition.
