Abstract

1396181 Bullets E GRUAZ 5 April 1972 [24 June 1971] 15680/72 Heading F3A [Also in Divisions B2 and C3] A bullet comprises a body which has been formed, at least in part, by injecting into a mould a plastics material for mixture with carbon fibres previously disposed in the mould, or plastics material previously mixed with carbon fibres, the carbon fibres having been formed by carbonizing plastics fibres at about 3000‹ C. The plastics material with which the carbon fibres are mixed may be a polyamide, a polyvinyl, a polypropylene, or a polyethylene. The bullet contains up to 75% by weight of carbon fibres. The bullet may have a metallic core with a coating of an admixture of the plastics material and the carbon fibres.
