1395309 Electron beam deflecting systems PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 3 Oct 1973 [6 Oct 1972] 46164/72 Heading H1D A deflection coil arrangement for a multibeam television display tube comprises first and second saddle-shaped coils 27 and 29, the angle α subtended at the axis by the portion of the coil nearest the screen being smaller for one of the coils, 29, than for the other, 27. As described, the arrangement is employed in a three-gun shadow-mask colour tube, to reduce landing errors at the ends of the horizontal axis of the screen, the smaller angle coil being uppermost, as shown, for a gun arrangement in which one of the guns is positioned at the top vertex of a triangle.
