1395170 Apparatus for making meat and fruit filled pastries CLYDE-ENCO LTD 12 July 1973 [14 July 1972] 32943/72 Heading A2A [Also in Division B5] An apparatus for the manufacture of meat and fruit filled pastries comprises a horizontal conveyor belt 1 for reception of a strip of pastry 2 which is cut into shapes 3, two convergent walls 5 which raise the opposite edges of a strip of pastry, with the shapes 3 cut therein, and bring them towards one another a first pair of belts 6 disposed with adjacent flights parallel to one another and perpendicular to the horizontal belt 1 which receives the strip from the convergent walls and feeds it forward to a second pair of belts 7 incorporating flat transverse slots 8 disposed with adjacent flights parallel to one another and perpendicular to the belt 1, the lower end of the slats forming a contoured edge to each belt, the second pair of belts being synchronised with a cutting means so that each two adjacent portions of the contoured edges of the belts coincide with a similarly contoured portion of the edge of a strip of pastry coming from the first pair of belts, the adjacent flights of the second pair of belts being close together so that the edges of pastry shapes located between the belts are pressed into intimate contact.
