1394961 Printers SIEMENS AG 28 Aug 1973 [1 Sept 1972] 40503/73 Heading G4H A printer is provided with interchangeable type-carriers each having a coder device which serves to produce a code signal characterising it, the printer being such that the code signal from the type-carrier in use is decoded to select an appropriate one of a number of electronic arrangements (e.g. read-only stores), which transmits information concerning the printing type(s) currently in the printing position, there being one such arrangement per possible typecarrier.
