Abstract

1394746 Bags; dispensing bags Y I SUOMINEN 14 June 1972 [14 June 1971 26 Aug 1971 6 Sept 1971] 27724/72 Headings A4G and A4T [Also in Division B8] Apparatus for dispensing and holding open bags comprises a bag support member 31 which supports a stack of bags by passing through opposed holes formed in the walls of the bags, the member 31 being tubular or formed with channels so that air blown therethrough opens the top most bag. The stack may hang vertically, with member 31 arranged horizontal, or be arranged as shown. The bags are formed with opposed suspension holes of different sizes, so that the second wall may be retained by a flange on the member 31 or on a sleeve about the member 31, while the first wall freely passes this flange. The bags may have one or two pairs of opposed holes, and may also have a handle hole. Pusher 34 biased by spring 36 may be provided for the stack, and member 31 may carry a nozzle e.g. 37 which diverts the air-flow into the top most bag. During filling of the bag with goods, it rests on support plate but, after filling the bag is removed from member 31, and the plate 46 retracted against the action of spring 52, allowing the full bag to travel over rollers 51 to the customer. The plate 46 may be retracted by lever 49 or electrically or pneumatically.
