1394477 Preserving bagasse BP CHEMICALS INTERNATIONAL Ltd 20 March 1974 [29 March 1973] 15166/73 Heading A5E [Also in Division D2] A process for the preservation and simultaneous pre-digestion of bagasse comprises slurrying bagasse with an aqueous solution of a C 1-6 saturated carboxylic acid having a pH of 3 to 5 and draining off the excess aqueous solution prior to storing the bagasse for a period sufficient to at least partially decompose incrustations present therein.
