Abstract
1393532 Television HAWKER SIDDELEY DYNAMICS Ltd 23 June 1972 [24 June 1971] 29601/71 Heading H4F In a scanning system, e.g. an infra-red scanning system, in which an image of a scene is scanned by a line (or other series array, e.g. staggered), of elemental detectors extending across the direction of scan, each detector output signal (except the first and last in the line), has added thereto proportions of the output signals from the adjacent detectors in the line to thereby improve the modulation transfer function of the system with respect to the direction across the direction of scan. If three adjacent detector outputs comprises i. j and k then the j output is modified to be To improve the modulation transfer function along the direction of line scan then a similar modified output is formed by combining the outputs from adjacent points in the direction of scan either by using multiple detector elements in the direction of scan or by the use of two delay networks (e.g. each of 2 Ás), for each modified detector output j'.
