Abstract

1392766 Component assemblies LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS GmbH 29 Sept 1972 [29 Sept 1971] 45167/72 Heading H1R [Also in Division H3] A holder for a filter comprising a plurality of transducers and resonators sandwiching a pair of quartz or ceramic discs 1, 2 comprises a screening plate 10 made of two sheets, spot welded together and serving to reduce input to output capacitance, mounted upon a baseplate 12, of conductive material or silver coated, webs 11, 11<SP>1</SP>, see also Fig. 4 (not shown), engaging the edges of the discs 1, 2 to support them, and provide earth connections to resonator and transducer electrodes, the webs being fixed to the discs by conductive adhesive, or solder (18, Fig. 4). A screening can 13, soft soldered or cold press welded to baseplate 12 has a closable opening 19 allowing evacuation of the interior, or its filling with gas. Filter construction.-The filter comprises a pair of sub-filters connected in series, each mounted on one of the discs and comprising input, and output electrodes (3, 6; 4, 7), Figs. 1, 2 (not shown) and intermediate resonators with electrodes (5, 8), all the resonator electrodes being connected to earth. All non-earthed electrodes (3, 4, 6, 7) are mounted on sides of the discs remote from the screen 10, in a recess of which is supported shunt capacitor 9. Conductive paths 17, 17<SP>1</SP> are provided on the discs between electrodes, those apertaining to electrodes (3, 4), 6 and 7 being directed to the edge of the respective disc adjacent the baseplate 12. The angular displacement between the plane of the screening plate 10, and major axis of baseplate 12 is stated to increase the decoupling between the input terminal 15, and the output terminal 16. An earth terminal 14 is provided. The filter is used as an I.F. filter, at specified frequencies, for radio telephone communication.
