1392638 Feeding powder to compacting machines BELGONUCLEAIRE SA and CENTRE D'ETUDE DE L'ENERGIE NUCLEAIRE 12 Dec 1972 [15 Dec 1971] 57211/72 Heading B5A [Also in Division B8] A pelletizing machine for compacting different materials has a feeding device comprising an angularly oscillating shoe 4 divided into compartments 5, 6 and driving means for bringing each compartment sequentially into communication with a compacting chamber. The shoe 4 is pivoted at 20 on a table 2 rolling on die table 1 and reciprocated by arms 9. A shaft 10 extending from the shoe carries a roller 11 running in guide track 14-18 causing the shoe to oscillate and thereby alternately bring compartments 5, 6 over the aperture 7 of the compacting chamber. Hoppers 24 (Fig. 2, not shown) feed material to compartments 5, 6 where scrapers 8 are rotated by a variable speed motor. A portion 18 of the guide track is rotated about point 19 each time it is engaged by roller 11 to ensure that the roller returns along the opposite half of the track.
