Abstract

1392400 Laminates DENKI KAGAKU KOGYO KK and KOATSU GAS KOGYO KK 16 Feb 1973 [18 Feb 1972] 7825/73 Heading B5N [Also in Divisions C2 and C3] Adhesion between two solid surfaces is effected by incorporating therebetween a cyanoacrylate of the formula CH 2 =C(C#N)COOR, wherein R is C 1-16 alkyl, allyl, cyclohexyl or phenyl group, which has been stabilized by incorporation therein of a boron fluoride complex other than a complex made from boron fluoride and an amine or alcohol and allowing the cyanoacrylate to polymerize. The α-cyanoaorylate may be in the form of a composition which may contain a substance which reduces the penetrability of the monomer, a methacrylate resin, an acrylic ester resin, a poly-α-cyanoacrylate, a cellulose ester or a polyvinyl ether. Specified surfaces are those of rubber, plastics, metal, e.g steel, ceramics, glass, paper, wood, leather and cloth.
