Abstract
1391675 Photo-electric apparatus EASTMAN KODAK CO 15 May 1972 [13 May 1971] 22751/72 Heading G I A [Also in Division G3] The time taken to spool successive lengths of photographic film 10 is kept constant by clocking the duration of each spooling operation and adjusting the speed of the spool motor 40 to reduce any error between the clocked duration and a reference duration signal. In Fig. 1, clock pulses are counted at 47 from the time a notch 14 in the film is detected by a photo-cell PC- until a comparator 50 detects that the spool motor 40 has stopped in response to the notch being detected by photo-cell PC-3. The count in 47 is compared with high and low limits, a counter 51 being adjusted up or down if a limit is exceeded, and converted to an analogue signal for use as a reference for a D/A converter 38 supplying the speed determining input to the motor 40.
