Abstract

1391596 Control of D.C. motors CABLEFORM Ltd 29 Sept 1972 [1 July 1971] 30813/71 Heading H2J In a control arrangement for two motors A1, F1, and A2, F2, each of which drives one wheel on either side of a vehicle, switches a, b, are operated by the steering mechanism at a predetermined angle to energize respectively contactor coils SA1, SF1 or SA2, SF2, the contacts of which sal, sf1 or sa2, sf2 short circuit the armature and field windings of the appropriate motor causing it to stop thus assisting the vehicle to turn. The direction of rotation of the motors is controlled by contacts fl and r1 which are operated by coils F1 and R1 controlled by the Forward/Reverse switch FR.
