1390717 Teleprinter keyboards INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 10 July 1973 [12 July 1972] 32782/73 Heading H4P In a keyboard controlled transmitting arrangement in a teleprinter for simplifying transmission of frequently recurring sequences, such as ae, oe, ue, ssss, nnnn, a separate key 1, 2, 3 is provided for each sequence to initiate transmission of the first character of the sequence and is associated with a fixed programme generator HS1, HS2, HS3 which generates the remaining characters of the sequence immediately after the first, the keyboard being locked during the time in which the sequence is transmitted. When the second character is to be generated more than once, the generator is re-accessed as often as necessary. The keys 1, 2, 3 operate associated switches TS11, TS12, TS13, TS2, TS3 which are releasably lockable, and also operate the character key on the main keyboard TF which corresponds to the first character of the group. The output from the actuated key switch enables an associated gate G1, G2, G3 and after transmission of the first character by transmitter S, a pulse SA enables the appropriate generator HS1, HS2, HS3 for the subsequent characters.
