Abstract

1390420 Punching; stamping BRUDERER AG 26 Sept 1972 [1 Oct 1971] 44447/72 Headings B3Q and B3W Guide columns 8 are carried by the ram 9 of a punching or stamping press and run in guides 7 at a level at which work B is positioned for punching or stamping. As shown, there are four columns 8 on the ram, each running in a guide 7 carried by a respective bracket 6 supporting an upper housing 16 on a bed 1. A drive shaft 35, though an eccentric 34, a pair of connecting rods 33, links 27, rocking beams 23, links 21 and columns 13, reciprocates the ram 9 over a table 4 on the bed 1. The beams 23 pivot on eccentric 24, the driving linkage also serving to guide the ram. Balancing.-A slide 29 in guides 30 carries a weight 32 and is connected by a pin 28 to the connecting rods 33 for at least partly balancing the vertical forces. One or a pair of further weights 46, mainly for horizontal balance, are connected by links 44, levers 39 and further links 38 to the connecting rods. The links 38 act as guides for the weights 46 so that these also assist in the vertical balance. Lubricating and cooling.-Cooling oil is supplied at our side of a baffle in the bed reservoir 2 and removed from the other side, the reservoir 2 being connected to a sump in the upper casing 16. Oil is fed to a laterally-movable sealing sleeve 14 on each column 13 and through the left-hand column to a sump 11 on the ram 9 which is connection, by a passage 19 in the right-hand column, to the casing 16. Oil is also supplied to the guides 7 from which it escapes, through the hollow brackets 6, into the reservoir 2.
