Abstract
1389168 Capo-tastos H BAUERFEIND 4 April 1973 [30 June 1972] 16196/73 Heading G5J The pressure bar 1 of a "capo" is provided with a comb-like member 8 which has resilient teeth 9, each tooth having a thickened pad at its end, 10, preferably of an inverted tapering form, as in Fig. 2, and arranged to exert pressures on the instrument strings, particularly where thin strings lie between thicker strings, as in twelve-stringed guitars. Clamp member 2, with hinge 4, has a resilient pad 3, and is secured in place by means of a tooth 5 engaging in ratchet teeth 7, on a curved extension 6 of the pressure bar. Both members are of synthetic plastics material. In another embodiment, a thin C-section plastics shield member envelopes the pad ends of the teeth, in order to prevent thin strings from entering the gaps between pads.
