Abstract

1388900 Hydrostatic transmission control; linkwork BONSER ENG Ltd 26 March 1973 [29 March 1972] 14672/72 Headings F2D and F2K A linkage between a control member 8 of a variable output pump (not shown) in the hydrostatic transmission of a fork-lift truck and control pedals 12 and 32 (or alternatively a single pedal, Fig. 4, not shown) is such that successive incremental movements of a pedal produces progressively larger movements of control member 8. The pedal 12 shown is pivoted to a plate 13 and connected to a plate 17 mounted on the end of a shaft 9 journalled in plate 13 through a connecting rod 27 pivotally attached to both pedal 12 and plate 17, this plate 17 having spigots 18 and 19 which engage in U- shaped channels 22a and 22b of a bar portion 16 of a push rod 14 attached to control member 8. Depression of pedal 12 causes pivoting of plate 17 through rod 27, spigot 18 leaving its groove 22a and spigot 19 moves the push rod 14 to the left to adjust the pump. The pedal 32 is pivoted on a further plate 30 and is connected to shaft 9 via a rod 33 and a crank 31 so that depression of this pedal alters the pump in the opposite sense. Springs 25, 26 hold rod 14 and plate 17 in engagement. In a further embodiment a single pedal can be rocked about a central position for movement of member 8 in either direction (Fig. 4, not shown).
