1388807 Simultaneous production of phthalic anhydride and anthraquinone VOSTOCHY NAUCHNO - ISSLEDOVATELSKY UGLEKHIMICHESKY INSTITUT 9 Aug 1973 37766/73 Heading C2C A method of simultaneous production of phthalic anhydride and anthraquinone comprises the vapour phase oxidation of a stock material which is a mixture of anthracene and naphthalene, by an oxygen containing gas in a stationary bed of a vanadium catalyst. The preferred catalyst is selected from compounds of vanadium and sulphates of alkali metals on a carrier, e.g. vanadium-potassium-sulphate-silica gel.
