Abstract

1388710 Sheet forming BLACKNELL BUILDINGS Ltd 2 Aug 1973 [2 Aug 1972] 36031/72 Heading B5A A thermo-forming machine for bending the end of a corrugated plastics sheet to an included angle of at least 45 degrees and for flattening the corrugations, comprises a reciprocable base plate 2 for supporting a sheet 4 so that the end projects therefrom, an electrical heater 6 and a vertically movable plate 16 which can be lowered to engage one end 30 of a piston and cylinder unit 28 able to retract to bend the end of sheet against a forming surface 22 of the base plate. The plate 16 can be changed with other plates having different forming angle. The members 2 and 16 can be water cooled. The side portions of the sheet can be similarly bent.
