Abstract
1388249 Anhydrous disodium phosphate KAZAKHSKY FILIAL LENINGRADSKOGO GOSNDARSTVENUOGO I PROEKTNOGO INSTITUTA OSNOVNOI KHIMICHESKOI PROMYSHLENNOSTI and CHIMKENTSKY FOSFORNY ZAVOD IMEN1 10 Aug 1973 38070/73 Heading C1A A process for producing anhydrous disodium phosphate by reacting soda ash with phosphonic acid of 75-100% by wt. concentration in a solution of disodium phosphate saturated at 90-105‹ C. with the formation of a solid phase comprising the product and a liquid phase comprising a saturated disodium phosphate solution, followed by separating the phases. It is preferred to carry out the reaction using a columetric ratio of 1 : 3 between the solid and liquid phases. The process can be operated continuously by feeding the mother liquor, after separation of the product by, e.g. centrifuging, back to the reaction stage between soda ash and phosphonic acid at a temperature of 90-103‹ C. Figures are given for the particle size distribution of the product which are in the range 0À1-0À4 mm.
