Abstract

1387810 Fire extinguishants CHUBB FIRE SECURITY Ltd 25 May 1972 [27 May 1971] 17582/71 Heading A5A [Also in Division C4] The invention comprises aqueous solutions containing urea and ammonium chloride and having a freezing point of -16‹C or lower. Such solutions may be used as de-icing or anti-freeze agents or in fire-fighting compositions. In both cases the solution may also contain formamide or methylolformamide. Firefighting compositions may include a foamforming compound e.g. a protein, silicone, perfluorosurfactant, or fluoroprotein, for discharge by carbon dioxide.
