Abstract
1387243 Weft selectors ROCKWELL INTERNATIONAL CORP 11 April 1973 [1 June 1972] 17377/73 Heading DIE A weft selector comprises four fingers 27-30 slidable to bring a selected one of their weft guide eyes 34 to the same position, the fingers being controlled by way of Bowden wires 31 by pivotable selector arms 88 controlled by a pattern tape 55. A selected arm 88 is held in a raised position by a corresponding pivotable latch lever 102 acting on a stud 110 on each arm 88. The pattern tape 55 has holes positioned so that, acting through reaching needles 68, bell crank 65 and push rods 75, provided in pairs one for arm 88 and one for its corresponding latch lever 102, the latch lever 101 of the arm 88 raised on the preceding pick is moved to release and allow that arm 88 to lower, and simultaneously the next selected arm 88 is raised. Rods 75 selected are pushed onto an abutment 78 which is reciprocated upwards by a cam 83. A cam operated clearing rod 118 moves the rods 75 off of abutment 78 before the next pick and simultaneously lifts reaching needles 68.
