Abstract
1387240 Tungsten-halogen lamp THORN ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 28 Nov 1973 55230/73 Addition to 1361324 Heading HIF A tungsten-halogen cycle electric incandescent lamp has a fill including a solid partially halogenated aromatic halide. The preferred halides are the tri-, tetra- and penta-bromo benzenes which are introduced into the lamp envelope dissolved in petroleum ether optionally together with bromophosphonitrile. The solvent is removed in a dry stream of nitrogen and the envelope filled with argon or krypton prior to sealing. Other solvents are specified.
