Abstract
1387144 Temperature alarms R J LANGERON 3 Feb 1972 [3 Feb 1971] 5196/72 Heading G4N In a method of protecting (e.g. electronic or mechanical) apparatus, at least one component of the apparatus has applied thereto a substance which will produce gas, fumes or aerosols at a temperature sufficiently low as not to harm the component and the apparatus is monitored by means of an ionization detector, the output of which is arranged to interrupt the supply to the apparatus upon over-heating. The component may be coated with varnish, paste, paint, cement, enamel, paper or resin which may produce smoke at predetermined temperatures. More than one component may respond at different temperatures. The ionization detector may also operate an acoustic or visual alarm.
