Abstract

1386526 Incinerators CHALLENGE-COOK BROS Inc 12 April 1973 [25 May 1972] 17675/73 Heading F4B Combustible particles are collected from a gas stream on a screen, and heated to above their combustion temperature. Air flowing through a casing 2 deposits lint or dust on a screen 14 rotated by a motor 6. A burner 19 or electric heating element is arranged adjacent the screen 14 so that the lint is burnt as it passes through the flame or heated zone. A seal 12 engages a channel 11 at the top edge of the screen, Fig. 4, and the lower end of the screen is closed by a member 17, a conical deflector 18 directing the gas flow. Other forms of rotating screen are described, the burner being arranged so that collected dust or lint passes through a line of flame. Some embodiments have arrangements for collecting ash. The flow of air or gas through the screen and the linear form of the burner ensures that the screen does not become overheated.
