1386342 Cleaning aluminium foil HOECHST AG 14 Feb 1972 [15 Feb 1971] 6702/72 Heading F2N [Also in Divisions C7 and B6] An A1 or A1 alloy foil for use as lithographic printing plates is cleaned, after mechanical, chemical or electro-chemical roughening, and/or anodic oxidation, by jets of water at a pressure of at least 10 kg./cm.<2> (preferably 25 to 60). Several staggered wide jets in one or more rows may be used impinging vertically either from above, below or both. The foil may be supported by an hydraulic channel 3 or by a perforated suction belt.
