Abstract

1386198 Coupling bracket for brake adjuster KNORR-BREMSE GmbH 29 March 1973 [1 April 1972] 15278/73 Heading B3A [Also in Division F2] A coupling bracket for use with a brake adjusting device in association with a stationary bearing structure 4 surrounding a brake camshaft extending movably therethrough comprises an elongate plate having two portions 2, 3 joined by a waist portion of reduced width, the portion 3 being bent so that with the portion 2 secured to an end face of the bearing structure by bolts 5, portion 3 extends arcuately of the shaft axis and has an aperture 12 extending transverse of the shaft axis to accommodate a drive member of the adjusting device, so as to permit the adjusting device to be connected, with the portion 3, in any selected one of a different possible angular disposition relative to the shaft axis. As shown the bracket is formed from an elongate stamping 1 having opposed lateral edge portions which are stamped out to produce recesses 9, 10 forming the waist portion. One end 8 of the stamping has a cylindrical edge and an aperture 6 is provided for passage of bolts 5 therethrough. The stamping 1 is then bent at right angles to provide the coupling bracket. Instead of an aperture 6 two opposed semicircular recesses 20, 21, Fig. 5 (not shown), in which bolts 5 engage may be provided.
