Abstract

1386097 Board game LEARNING GAMES LTD 3 May 1972 [5 May 1971 7 July 1971] 13295/71 and 32007/71 Heading A6H An apparatus for playing a game (based upon road safety rules) comprises a board having a subdivided track marked thereon, markers (in the form of miniature motor cars) for moving from one subdivision of the track to other subdivisions, a die for directing the number of subdivisions of a track a marker is to move and a set of "questions- and-answer" cards having on one side of each card a question concerning road safety rules and on the other side of each card the correct answer to the question on the first side of the card. Various hazards are marked around the track on some of the subdivisions, and, when a player's marker lands upon one of these hazards, a "question-and-answer" card must be taken by that player and the question thereon answered. If the player answers correctly he retains the "question-and-answer" card, if not, the player receives an "offence" ticket. The scoring at the end of the game is determined by the ratio of the number of "question-and-answer" cards to the number of "offence" tickets. The die used may have three green and three red sides so that when a marker reaches a "traffic light" on the track, the die may be used to determine whether or not the marker may proceed.
