Abstract

1385743 Antiskid braking systems EATON CORP 16 March 1972 [17 March 1971] 12241/72 Heading F2F An antiskid braking system includes sensors generating signals representative of the speed of each wheel, a first logic circuit to generate a skid signal when the speed of one wheel differs by a predetermined amount from the speed of the fastest wheel, a second logic circuit to generate a skid signal when the deceleration of a wheel exceeds a predetermined deceleration, a third logic circuit to generate a skid signal when a wheel speed decreases below a computed reference speed and circuits interconnecting the logic circuits to operate a brake pressure relieving device when any of the logic circuits provide a skid signal. A high pressure air reservoir 30 supplies air, via an operator-controlled valve 32 and relay valves 40, 42, to the brakes, the valves 40, 42 also being controlled by skid signals from the logic system 19 to block the flow of air to the brakes and vent the system to atmosphere. A fourth logic circuit generates a skid signal when the deceleration of two wheels on the same axis exceeds a predetermined deceleration.
