1385233 Geographical and universal timepieces SUWA SEIKOSHA KK 20 Jan 1972 [3 Feb 1971] 2546/72 Heading G3T A timepiece movement has a rotatable stem which is movable axially from a first position, wherein it can correct an hour hand and a minute hand simultaneously, to a second position wherein rotation in one sense adjusts the hour hand by predetermined step with respect to the minute hand, and rotation in the opposite sense adjusts a calendar member. As shown, a timepiece capable of displaying time in two different time zones by a second hour hand 12, additional to the conventional hour hand 11, (together with minute and seconds hands, not shown), has a single stem 30 for adjusting the hands 11, 12, simultaneously or separately. The rotatable stem 30 has three axial positions. In the radially outer position, rotation adjusts both hands 11 and 12 via a slipping clutch device involving pins 24 and apertures 26. Relative axial movement between the hand-carrying tubular members 14, 20, is permitted by a spring 22 such that rotation of stem 30 in its intermediate axial position adjusts hand 12 only. Opposite rotation in its intermediate position adjusts calender wheel 31 with a date indicator. Rotation in the axially inner position winds a mainspring; Axial movement of stem 30 allows a clutch wheel 41 thereon to mesh with a setting wheel 40 on a setting lever 36 and thereby drive a correcting wheel 42 engageable with teeth 43 of calender wheel 31 or with correction transmitting wheel 27. The correcting wheel 42 has a spindle 44 freely movable in a slot 45 in the setting wheel lever 36. Reference is made to a quartz crystal watch and to stopping a balance wheel to adjust the seconds hand.
