Abstract

1384080 Baling presses DAVIS INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT Ltd 6 Nov 1972 [13 Nov 1971] 51093/72 Heading B5F A baling press has at least one side 13 of the baling chamber laterally adjustable with the base of the chamber formed by a vertically movable loading and/or unloading platform 24. At either end of the chamber there is a ram 9 connected to a platen 11 which is convex in the horizontal and/or vertical planes. The platens have recesses 12 and both sides 13 are slatted to enable a band or wire to be passed around a compressed bale. Both sides 13 may be movable by hydraulic rams to permit easy insertion of the material into the chamber. Fibrous material may be fed to bins 41 on a rotatable platform 40. The bin being filled can be raised by a weighing mechanism 43. The material can be removed from a bin by suction into a chamber 20 having a feed ram 21 at the top and sliding trap door 18 at the bottom leading into the baling chamber. The formed bales are removed on a conveyer 3. Alternatively pre-pressed bales may be fed on the conveyer 3 to the platform 12 and be compressed together in the chamber.
