Abstract
1383800 Operating members for switches SQUARED CO 18 Oct 1972 [27 Oct 1971] 47992/72 Heading H1N A circuit-breaker has a movable contact arm movable to "on" and "off" positions by a driving member 14 pivoted about a first axis 18 and engaged by an actuating member 32 pivoted about a second axis at right angles to the first axis and operable by a detachable key or tool. As shown, the actuating member 32 has a cylindrical body portion 31 with a driving pin 30 extending eccentrically from an inner face 34 of the portion 31 into a recess 28 in the driving member 14. The body portion 31 and the opening 42 in the circuit-breaker casing have a co-operating groove 40 and circumferential ridge 45 by which the portion 31 is rotatably mounted. The outer face 36 of the portion 31 is accessible from outside the casing and may have holes 38 in which the prongs 48 of a key 46 may be inserted, or a slot to receive the T-shaped end of a key, Fig 5 (not shown). Alternatively, the outer face of the portion 31 may have a hexagonal recess to receive an Allen wrench, Fig. 4 (not shown).
