1383286 Active filters INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINE CORP 16 Aug 1973 [23 Aug 1972] 38796/73 Heading H3U A digital filter comprises: a delay 2 of period (2K + 2)T, where K is a positive integer and T is the sampling period, the delay having a tap at an intermediate point defining a delay of (K+1)T; means 4 for summing the input to the delay, the output from the delay and the output from the tap weighted by a factor 2(- 1)<SP>k</SP> in weighting circuit 3; means 5, 6 for providing the difference between the output from summing means 4 and the difference provided an interval T earlier; and means 7, 8 for providing the difference between the output from means 5, 6 and this second difference an interval T earlier. The two signals corresponding to the earlier intervals are derived by delays 6, 8 of T. The output signal, g n+2 , is thus formed as the difference between a signal b n+ 2 fed to the positive input of adder 7, and the signal g n+1 fed to the negative input of adder 7 from the delay 8, that is The quantity b n+2 is similarly derived by delay 6 and adder 5 as where the output from adder 4 is given by the expression S being a sample of the input signal at the time denoted by the subscript.
