Abstract
1382829 Conductive material JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 6 April 1972 [16 April 1971] 9622/71 Heading B5A A method of producing a material which is rendered electrically conductive by deformation comprises introducing a mixture of conductive particles, i.e. silver-plated copper and binder, i.e. silicone rubber, into a mould, removing the material after the binder has cured and detaching and discarding an upper portion of the material to avoid inhomogeneity in the distribution of the particles in the final material due to sinking during curing. The portion may be 2-3% of the height of the cured material. The mould may comprise a pair of vertical glass plates held spaced apart by spacers, clips or clamps. The particles may comprise 80-84% by weight of the mixture and may have diameters within the range 0À063 to 1À50 mm.
