Abstract

1382820 Air filter DRAGERWERK AG 23 Dec 1971 [24 Dec 1970] 60087/71 Heading BIT [Also in Division F4] An air conditioning filter apparatus comprises a filter 3 for the removal of bacteria from air, the filter being arranged across a conduit 1 connected to an air feeder pump 2. The filter 3 is suitably of hydrophobic glass fibre paper. The upstream and downstream faces of the filter 3 are irradiated by ultra violet radiation from sources 4, 5, to kill captured bacteria. A further filter 6 is fitted downstream to remove any ozone produced by the irradiation. This filter comprises active carbon with or without impregnation, and/or an oxide or oxides of copper, manganese, chromium, iron or another heavy metal or silica gel or active alumina.
