Abstract

1381515 Forming crop stacks HESSTON CORP 27 June 1972 29927/72 Heading B5F [Also in Divisions B7 and B8] An agricultural crop pick-up trailer comprises a pick-up 38 having a rotor 40 with blades 46 which throw and blow crop through a spout 48 into a container 34 having a telescoping press 36 and a chain conveyer 132 on its floor. The container has U-shaped intermediate member 82 to guide rollers secured to the press 36 which comprises side walls 80 and an arcuate perforated roof 76. When the container 34 becomes full with loose crop actuator units 96 act through arms 90 extending between discs 98 on the press to lower it to within the container compress the crop after which the press is raised and loading continued when the press 36 has effected its final compression to fill the container a bar 112 is pulled to unlock an endgate 100 so that as the press rises arms 114 are engaged by abutments so that the gate 100 is raised to the open position. Operation of the conveyer 132 can now discharge the container of its compressed load. The trailer chassis comprises sections 24, 26 joined in a toggle joint arrangement by trunions 32 so that if it is desired to tip the container to the Fig. 15 position to assist unloading release of triggers 140, Fig. 9, holding the two sections in the same horizontal plane allows further actuation of the units 96 to break the toggle joint and tip the container.
