Abstract

1381029 Vehicle rear view mirror system WINGARD Ltd 1 June 1973 [3 June 1972] 26014/72 Heading B7J A vehicle rear view mirror system comprises a first mirror 1 which extends through the vehicle roof upwardly and rearwardly at an acute angle to the horizontal and adjacent the upper edge of the front windscreen, and a second mirror 2 which extends from the same position as the first mirror downwardly and rearwardly at an acute angle to the horizontal, light rays from the rear of the vehicle being reflected through a transparent window 8 to the vehicle driver. The mirrors may be mounted in a wedge-shaped housing 3 of sheet metal or plastics. The angle between the mirrors is preferably 51 degrees 26 minutes with the inclination of mirror 1 to the horizontal 26 degrees. A clear glass sheet may be interposed between the mirrors to reduce dazzle.
